Planned Giving Can Change Lives
Giving a Gift That Lasts Beyond a Lifetime
The newly created planned giving program makes this opportunity
available to all friends of Reading Recovery by giving you and every
member of RRCNA a way to proactively determine your own legacy. Your
contribution to children and to the profession of teaching does not
have to end when your life does. It can continue to impact
individuals for generations. By formally naming the Reading Recovery
Fund in your will, you can extend your personal influence and give
friends and loved ones an indication of how you would like to be
remembered.
As a Reading Recovery professional you have given countless hours to
making sure that all children get the help they need to become
proficient readers and writers. You have tried to reach each
struggling reader, to discover his/her strengths, and to help each
one develop the strategies to succeed—not just in first grade, but
in schools and throughout life.

By making a planned gift to
the Reading Recovery Fund you can make sure this effort continues.
For example:
- A gift of appreciated stock to RRCNA can not only reduce the
taxes you would otherwise owe to the government but could help
ensure Reading Recovery will be available to students in your school
and beyond for years to come.
- Do you have a will? A bequest to to RRCNA will help ensure your
life's work will continue long after you pass on.
- If you fund a trust that benefits Reading Recovery you may be
able to provide funds for your grandchildren's education while
helping someone else’s grandchildren.
- By donating a house that you have inherited or that you no
longer need you might be able to provide for your children while
making a difference for the future of your own community.
- Would sharing a portion of your retirement with RRCNA actually
help you maximize the amount of money you would have available for
your later years?
The Planned Giving Department of The Ohio State University has
agreed to provide the administrative, investment, and legal services
to assure that you receive the most professional, up-to-date
information on tax implications or other considerations of providing
a gift to Reading Recovery. Their expertise assures an informed
discussion with your advisors and heirs about your wishes. If you
would like to discuss your specific situation, the OSU experts will
work with you, your financial advisors, and family to structure a
plan that will accomplish your goals. Our goal is to help YOU
make a lasting difference.
These examples are just ideas to explore with your loved ones and
discuss with your accountant, lawyer, or other financial advisor.
Every situation is different and the laws vary in each state.
