Professional Development Grants are available for
the 2012 National Reading Recovery & K-6 Classroom Literacy Conference
Each professional development grant is valued at
$1,000
and is available to support National Conference attendance of
Reading Recovery teachers, teacher leaders, university trainers, and
administrators who support the implementation of Reading Recovery.
Applicants must be current members of RRCNA.
All grants will be awarded through a national competition
administered by the Reading Recovery Council of North America, Inc.,
and can be used to cover Conference and Preconference registration,
travel, hotel, and per diem expenses associated with attending the
Conference. Expenses in excess of the grant will be the
responsibility of the grant recipient or the school district.
Completed applications must be postmarked by Oct. 15, 2011.

Heinemann is a leading publisher of books, multimedia programs,
and professional development resources for K-college educators as
well as classroom materials. Heinemann publishes many of the
foremost educators in Reading Recovery.

MaryRuth Books, Inc. offers instructional, clever books that
provide reading practice using photos and illustrations to
facilitate word recognition and engage the young reader. The
popular Danny books, featuring Danny the yellow lab, are reported by
reading specialists to be a first choice among their students.

Reading Reading Books, LLC is an educational
publisher located in Reading, Pennsylvania. They offer a
variety of fiction and non-fiction leveled books
specifically designed for beginning readers. The goal of
Reading Reading Books is to provide quality, affordable
books for young children.

anonymous, RRCNA
is able to
make available 6 National Conference Professional
Development Grants.

SongLake Books
offers leveled books sold in unique collections
for reading programs, including Reading Recovery. Book collections
include fiction and non-fiction selections with a variety of genres
at each level and are culturally diverse and gender fair. Titles are
hand-picked to target children of all ability levels, especially
at-risk readers.

Townsend Press is an educational publisher of an acclaimed
series of reading, vocabulary, and writing textbooks. They also
publish the King School Series, leveled books for kindergarten and
first grade. Through their nonprofit foundation, they publish an
affordable library of original and classic paperbacks.

Minnesota Professional Development Grant
was established in memory of Reading Recovery teacher leader, Diane
Holum. This award honors her commitment and passion for literacy and
learning.
Available to
Minnesota residents only.
(RRCNA membership is not required).
