Description:
The Senior Researcher is responsible for all research and
program evaluation activities for the CRR and the national Literacy
Collaborative organization. Under the direction of the CRR Director,
the incumbent will design the research agenda, conduct quantitative
and qualitative program evaluation research, collaborate with
researchers at other universities, and contract with external
program evaluators and oversee their work. Continue existing
projects and initiate new projects. Create and update research
summaries and reports, write research-related content for CRR
marketing materials, and maintain research sections of the CRR
website and national Literacy Collaborative website. Conduct
training workshops on program evaluation and data analysis for
literacy coaches and other school professionals. Present at research
conferences and write articles for submission to peer-reviewed
journals. Provide technical assistance to schools and districts
enrolled in the Center’s programs. Serve as a resource to Center
faculty on issues related to student assessment, research, and data.
Work with CRR grant director to research and write federal, state,
and foundation grant proposals. Supervise and mentor
graduate/research assistants.

Grade 27 Salary Range: $62,285.44 - $92,182.66
Qualifications:
M.A./M.S. in Education Research or related social science field
is required. Doctorate preferred. A minimum of three years of
experience in quantitative and qualitative research and program
evaluation at the graduate or post-graduate level is required.
Strong oral and written communication as well as strong presentation
skills and speaking skills are required. Must have experience in
project management and be comfortable managing multiple projects at
one time, both independently and as part of a team. Must have a
record of excellent research design, study implementation and
statistical analysis, including the analysis and interpretation of
complex data. Must demonstrate a record of peer-reviewed journal
articles or other publication of research, and/or reports of
research to government agencies. Experience in managing databases
and developing reports is required. Must have experience teaching
adults and explaining complex concepts to non-researcher audiences.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving
skills are required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Some
familiarity with scholarship and practice in PreK-8 literacy
teaching and learning, teacher professional development and
coaching, school improvement, and/or other topics related to
literacy education is required. Proficient with Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and SPSS, SAS or other statistical software is required.
